If there was a word to describe Kobe Bryant‘s 2011 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, it would be “perseverance”. Assailed with critiques and a fine of$100,000 after his derogatory courtside outburst, Bryant stayed on to complete though subsequent lost to the Dallas Mavericks during this year’s NBA Play-Offs. Despite his lapse in judgement that time, Bryant lived up to his mistake, paid the fine and apologized. Moncler is the choice of European climbers and skiers since 1952 and its heritage and roots convey the integrity of the brand. This Montemart Jacket will weather the storm on the mountains and it should be able to handle anything in the urban terrain too. Heavy duty nylon exterior is waterproofed and high stance hooded collar, storm flaps and hand warmer pockets should keep the rain and wind out of the jacket. With help from retailer Precinct 5, Stussy Amsterdam created 4 new exclusive t-shirts. The capsule collection includes 2 stock logo tees in that iconic script of Shawn Stussy and 2 “Provokers” t-shirts by Brooklyn-base artist Eric Elms. A hint of Rastafarian, the t-shirts celebrate The Provos, an anti-establishment movement founded in 1965 and well-known for its non-violent provocations which set the tone for many other anarchist movements at the time.

CLOT x Levi’s WWIII 503 Denim

CLOT has collaborated with Levi’s on a pair of jeans known as the WWIII 503. The concept behind this project is to show how a pair of jeans survives through WWIII and gets recovered by the survivors. Functional d-rings have been attached to the front belt loops along with other details like side-zip pockets, glow in the dark paint drips and CLOT’s iconic RGB band detail. The denim is taken from a faded Levi’s batch and features a heavy wash base and burnt-out leg opening. Available at JUICE Hong Kong on March 11.

Nash Money X Intercity X Nike Air Force 1 – Sneaker Speakers

No Outfit of the Week this time, but instead enjoy something a bit special and different.

Recall science lessons learned during elementary school, that the vibration of air create sound? UK’s Intercity (publisher of Art & Sole) and customizer Alex Nash, popularly known as Nash Money, materialized that notion into their Sneaker Speakers customs. A promo for Havana Club’s Inspired Ingenuity Competition, where creative types are asked to formulate something unique out of everyday objects, Nash Money instantaneous mentioned his Sneaker Speakers concept when Intercity approached him.  A few cutaways here, several trims there, and an one of the kind speaker set based on a simple all white Air Force 1 was born.  It might not push the realm of high fidelity as with its UK peers from Bowers & Wilkins, it certainly will transform how you perceive your kicks next time you’re on the dance floor. via Art & Sole

Nike Sportswear Air Force 1 – Year Of The Rabbit Launch | Event Recap

Last week I announced you the release of the Air Force 1 – Year Of The Rabbit in China. Now let’s check how the launch went. With concerted efforts, Nike Sportswear plans to make its Air Force 1 – Year of the Rabbit edition, its most expansive launch on Mainland China. While queuing for kicks was never a new phenomenon, the limitation to distribution points in the past hampered most special releases from the athletic ware giant. This changed over the weekend when Nike Sportswear made available the “candy wrapping” variant of AF1 – Year of the Rabbit. As a nod to its inspiration, the White Rabbit Creamy Candy, each came in giant candy shaped packaging. Nike also made certain enough retail doors will have them, including JUICE Shanghai and NPC Shanghai, seen here. For those missed out on the initial release, the sneakers’ general release will take place this Friday, January 28th, at select retail locations such as Nike Beijing Store, Nike Sanlitun Store, Nike Beijing Oriental Plaza Store, Beijing Deal, Nike Shanghai Store, as well as JUICE and NPC in Shanghai.

Another dope release last weekend. For Air Jordan aficionados, there is simple no time to take a break.  After the crazed lineups forDoernbecher Freestyle Air Jordan III and Air Jordan XI Cool Grey late last year, it is back to square one as Jordan Brand prepared to re-release the Air Jordan III (3) in White/Fire Red-Cement Grey.  The “first” of many, among them the first to have the iconic elephant pattern and the first to have the Jumpman emblem, this retro version of AJ3 kept the key essentials, down to the hangtag and box, with only one difference.  While the OG version had “Nike Air” as the logo, this upcoming version will have Jumpman icon instead.  Nevertheless, it still will be one of the most sought after items for January 2011.

Nike Stadium MFG Features – Edison Chen Destroyer Jacket

2010 was a momentous year for Hong Kong celebrity Edison Chen.  The entertainer,  co-founder ofCLOT, and dabbler in design/fashion, enjoyed an upswing of popularity.  While as a guest for a Hong Kong television program, Chen stopped by Nike Stadium in New York City to document the creation of his very own Nike Sportswear Destroyer Jacket.  Once Chen selected the patterns, colorways, and patches to go on his bespoke Destroyer, including references to CLOT Against The World.  The team at Nike Stadium on Bowery went to work, creating the detailed elements right at the space.  Finally, all the final touches came together in an all-black Destroyer with highlight of Chen’s birth year and his affiliation to CLOT Rat Pack in red.

Deadline 2011 Spring T-Shirts

Los Angeles-based Deadline present a series of new graphic T-shirts from the brand’s collection for Spring 2011. Based around a centric theme of crime, the shirts reference back to several instrumental figures in mob history including the father of organized crime in the United States, Lucky Luciano. The designs come in several colorways each, all built around red/black/white and grey color blocks. Designed on one of two base models for Chinese New Year Collection, the Nike Air Force 1 Supreme – Year of the Rabbit took cues from the classic favorite and transposed them into elements of the shoe. The semi-translucence outsole, the all white leather and suede upper are the ideal facsimiles of the candy and its wax paper wrapping, while the accents in bright red and royal blue are maker’s markings found across the packaging. Done in exact fashion, the shoe insole denotes the edition and Nike Swoosh in familiar fonts. As inklings to the Year of the Rabbit, a fur-like chenille Swoosh along with a corresponding tongue tab in red or royal blue. In addition, a large Chinese character for rabbit is imprinted on the tongue tab as well, plus a wood craving motif of the animal itself on the heel tab.

2 versions will be available – one with limited edition packaging, in the shape of a giant White Rabbit Creamy Candy, is scheduled for January 23rd with a price of RMB¥ 2,599 (~USD$393). This will be follow by a general release version on January 28th at a price of RMB¥1,999 (~USD$302). Along with the footwear, a matching set of Nike Sportswear AW77 Hoodie will be available for purchase. This China exclusive is set to launch at Nike Beijing Store, Nike Sanlitun Store, Nike Beijing Oriental Plaza Store, Beijing Deal, Nike Shanghai Store, Shanghai Juice and Shanghai NPC.

After a few glimpses, here are some of the preliminary images of the upcoming Nike LeBron 8 V2. Based on the hit television series, Entourage, where a cast of characters from Queens, New York bound for the celebritydom of Hollywood after their childhood friend made it big in Tinseltown. Now in its 7th season, the comically driven series from HBO gained quite a following, including LeBron James. According to LeBron 8 V1/V2 designer Jason Petrie, the particular colorways of theEntourage edition were directly correlate to the show promotional poster. With primarily blue serving as background, with hints yellow and black (as the 5 characters’ silhouettes from the show), the Entourage edition of LeBron 8 V2 will launch sometime this March, though no words on whether the show will center an episode on the sneaker, like it did with the last Nike collaboration, theTurtle Air Force 1. via: MarqueeSole.

Nike Introduces The New French Football Kit

Although France might want it’s entire soccer program to stay out of the spotlight for a while (following a number of very public and very embarrassing incidents involving the team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup), the program is getting attention from a new uniform and apparel project by Nike. The new uniforms incorporate both French football history and all of the textile technology Nike can muster. Key changes include the full collar, which has a satin lining and a pearlised button, and a tuxedo-inspired stripe running from the underarm to the hem, which lends a hint of elegance. The collar also features the marking “1998,” honoring France’s victory in the FIFA World Cup. The jersey is also slightly darker than past French kits, a color which Nike press materials say “combines the bright royal blue of the French flag with a classic French marine blue.” The Dri-FIT uniforms are manufactured according to Nike’s Considered Design doctrines, and are made up of 96% recycled bottles – which is great for the earth, but the French team might have preferred a totally new beginning after 2010. The jerseys are very attractive, but they have a tough debut on February 5th, when the French team will wear them against Brazil in a match at Stade de France.
